Sunday Performance Update 7/26/26

As of this morning, Sunday, July 26, 2026, tonight’s performance of Singin’ in the Rain is currently on hold.

Our team has been working diligently with City partners throughout the weekend following Friday night’s electrical issue. At this time, we are still awaiting official confirmation from the City on whether tonight’s performance can move forward.

We understand many of you are making plans for this evening, and we sincerely appreciate your patience. As soon as we receive official approval, we’ll share an update here, through email, and across our social media channels.

The outpouring of support over the past two days has been truly incredible. Thank you to everyone who has sent encouraging messages, shared our updates, made a donation, purchased merchandise from our online shop, and continued to support our cast, crew, volunteers, and Board.

If you’d like to help offset the financial impact of the canceled performances, there are several ways you can support ZTP, including making a donation, shopping our online store, or participating in our fundraising efforts. Every contribution helps keep Austin’s free Summer Musical accessible to our community.

The Saturday 7/26/26 performance of Singin’ in the Rain is CANCELLED

Due to an unexpected electrical issue at the Zilker Hillside Theater, our recent performance of Singin’ in the Rain was canceled out of an abundance of caution. We are grateful that everyone remained safe and appreciate the swift response of City staff and first responders.

As a nonprofit organization, every performance plays an important role in supporting our mission. A canceled show means the loss of critical revenue from donations, concessions, chair rentals, merchandise, and raffle ticket sales that help fund our cast, crew, and future free productions.

Our team is working closely with the City as the issue is evaluated and resolved, and we remain hopeful that performances will resume as soon as it is safe to do so. We will continue to share updates here and on our social media channels.

If you’d like to help keep this 67-year Austin tradition thriving, you can support ZTP by making a donation, becoming a Friend of the Summer Musical for the 2027 season, buying merchandise or a raffle ticket once performances resume, or simply sharing our story with family and friends.

Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure free musical theater remains accessible to our community. You can learn about all the ways to support buy visiting our Link Tree

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support of Zilker Theatre Productions.

Together, we’ll be back on the hillside soon.
