Zilker Theatre Productions Announces 60th Anniversary Zilker Summer Musical
ZTP offers the hip-shaking musical-comedy All Shook Up for the Diamond Jubilee season in Summer 2018.
Austin, February 6, 2018 —For ZTP’s 60th season, to celebrate the values of our organization and the live music capital we call home, ZTP is bringing the hip-shaking musical-comedy All Shook Up to The Zilker Hillside Theater stage.
Set in 1950’s America, our show tells the story of characters who yearn to leave behind the confines of a segregated and oppressed small town to follow their dreams and fall in love. All Shook Up is inspired by Shakespeare, enlivened by the soulful hits of Elvis, and fueled by themes of inclusion, self-reliance, and the power of music.
This family-friendly production promises to be a celebration on The Hillside for 26 performances, Thursday through Sunday nights, in July 6 – August 18, 2018.
ZTP’s Artistic Director, J. Robert Moore, who will also be directing this summer, says, “ZTP’s All Shook Up is truly a rock and roll musical for a rock and roll town.”
The Zilker Summer Musical is offered at no charge to the public (donations gratefully accepted). Celebrants are invited to wear your blue suede shoes to celebrate 60 seasons of the Zilker Summer Musical any night on The Zilker Hillside, and especially for the Blue Suede Shoes Catered Preview Party on The Hillside which will launch ZTP’s diamond jubilee season.
